Little Mango needs hair clips to keep her heavy, long hair off her face, but she keeps losing them all the time. On top of it, these type of clips, which work the best for her, lose their plasticky cover in no time. Instead of buying new ones, I use just scrap fabric and felt to re-cover them.
As crafts go, this one needs no explanation. I just wanted to share it with you.
I covered some buttons with fabric and glued them to the pins. If you don’t have flat-backed buttons, use some wire-cutters to clip off the protruding piece of wire.
When the fabric gets old, I just recover the clips again. It takes me a few minutes only and it costs nothing.
Dealing with girls’ hair can be a lot of work, if your girl with more hair than most grownups I know insists she likes long hair. I used to cut it very short for the first years of her life, she was born with more hair than any newborn I’ve seen before, and I thought it was ridiculous having a baby with long hair. Now she’s going through a “princessy” stage, and it’s already hard enough to convince her to let me cut her hair to a manageable length. In the meantime, hair clips are my best friends.
Who ever said that raising girls was less work than raising boys?Have a nice weekend folks, see you next Monday. Have fun!
