DIY Bunting Crafts

I wanted to make some bunting for our entry, but wanted something different. I guess leather bunting is as different as it gets.

Right right now I can’t show you our entry because we are still homeless (sort of), vanished to a hotel while the repairs at home are done. But I took the banner to the hotel to make some pictures for you.

I’ll show you when I hang it at home, as I am planning to make a couple of changes to our entry, provided we’re back home in this century (the floor will get the first coat of poly tomorrow, the last one the day after tomorrow, then repainting and other various minor details). Sigh!

The flags are joined by a thin white bias tape folded over and stitched from end to end. I cut the exposed sides of the flags with the pinking shears

I used a large piece of brown leather for it. I added the letters with my sewing machine, they spell ¡HOLA!

As bunting goes, this one is pretty fancy (sort of), and it will be very durable. I am looking forward to finishing our entry when we’re back home.

Any time now. Any moment…

Thanks Anji. I thought of using leather because this is in a high traffic area, plus I wanted something that looked a bit more "grown up".
